The main goal of the course is to present new technologies that connect physical space and digital content. Lectures will cover locative media in general, the creative uses to which Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, architectural theory and participation based exercises. During the course students will prototype electronic devices using these positioning technologies.

The Interpretive Engine
a locative media workshop

Artists, designers --both graphic and sound, programmers, gamers, writers, composers and thing makers of all sorts are invited to collaborate.

This workshop will develop The Interpretive Engine for Various Places on Earth, a location aware, computer based work, to be shown in concert with the Fresno Metropolitan Museum in May 2006.

Creating Your Own Website

In this workshop students will create their own website using Macromedia Dreamweaver and old school HTML. The workshop will cover enchanting topics such as; importing and compressing images, marking up text, using frames, creating tables and an introduction to Cascading Style Sheets or CSS
